We’ve just stocked over 1,000 modern comics into our bins! Including a lot of DC’s ‘new 52’ line. In 2011, DC cancelled all of its existing titles and revamped their library.

This included renumbering Action Comics and Detective comics from #1 again, which had maintained their original numbering since the 1930s! The relaunch also introduced some new monthly comics to bring DC’s total up to 52.

This wave ran from 2011 to 2015. The New 52 was a great opportunity to bring in new readers who, like me, were intimidated to jump into the existing runs due to the extensive backstory and volume of books that would need to be caught up on.

What did you think of The New 52? How do you feel about comics rebooting their characters/series?
