Hey Cobras!

Dazzler is a Marvel Comics superhero and pop singer with the mutant ability to turn sound into light. She was introduced in “Uncanny X-Men” #130 in 1980, originally created through a cross-promotional deal between Marvel and Casablanca Records to launch a real-world multimedia music star. While the tie-in fell through, Dazzler had already made enough of an impact to get her own series regardless. In 1981 the “Dazzler” comic series released, with the added bonus of being the first comic line to go to exclusively comic book stores, and not newsstands. The comic was a major success, and ran for 42 issues.

Dazzler is one of the many heroes we will be featuring this July as part of our “Super July” event! We will be posting about all sorts of heroes this month in anticipation and celebration of the two new movies this month, Superman and Fantastic Four: First Steps.
