Hey Cobras!
The new Superman movie soars into theaters today! Directed by James Gunn, this movie is going to be the beginning of the new DC live action continuum. The summary for the movie is “Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned.”
As for Superman himself? What a legacy! Starting his comic launch in 1938, Superman took the world by storm, and defined the superhero genre as we know it; codenames, colorful costumes, extraordinary abilities, and a secret identity? Thank Superman! While other heroes have seen rises and falls since their debut, Superman has held strong with a long history of comic books, radio shows, tv shows, cartoons, movies, merchandise and more. He’s even in the iconic phrase we use to remember the great lakes! Super Man Saves Every One. We even have Superman to thank for passing the pesky 5th grade social studies test!
Superman is being featured alongside his fellow superheroes this July as part of our “Super July” social media event, where we will be posting about various heroes in anticipation and celebration of the upcoming and now released movies “Superman” and “Fantastic Four: First Steps”!
