StarCom: The U.S. Space Force was a 1986 toyline developed by Coleco, featuring a futuristic space-themed military storyline. The toyline stood out due to its innovative use of magnet-powered features, dubbed “Magna Lock” technology, which allowed figures to interact with vehicles and accessories. It also had motorized components, enabling some vehicles to unfold or move automatically without batteries.

The toyline was supported by a short-lived animated series that aired in the late 1980s. Despite its technological innovations and the detailed world it built, StarCom struggled to compete with larger franchises like G.I. Joe and Transformers and was discontinued after a brief run. However, it gained a loyal fan base, especially in Europe, where it was more successful.
