This year is Batman’s 85th Anniversary! This week we will be featuring things from our Batman section in celebration, as well as playing the Batman Animated Series cartoon this Saturday!

Batman has had numerous partners throughout his crime-fighting career, each bringing unique skills and perspectives. The Robins have been crucial allies, starting with Dick Grayson, who eventually became Nightwing. Jason Todd, the second Robin, faced a tragic end but later returned as the anti-hero Red Hood. Tim Drake, known for his detective prowess, took up the mantle of Robin after deducing Batman’s identity. Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s biological son, combines his father’s training with his mother Talia al Ghul’s lethal skills. The Batgirls have also been significant, with Barbara Gordon leading as Oracle after her tenure as Batgirl, providing invaluable tech support to the Bat-family. Cassandra Cain, a master martial artist with a tragic past, and Stephanie Brown, who also served as Spoiler and Robin, have both worn the Batgirl mantle. Additionally, mercenaries like Catwoman, an on-and-off ally and love interest, and Red Hood bring a more ruthless edge to Batman’s operations in Gotham. Together, these partners expand Batman’s reach and adaptability in his relentless fight against crime.
