Hey Cobras!
This year is TMNT’s 40th anniversary, and we’ve restocked our selection for the occasion!
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise began as a comic book conceived by Eastman and Laird in 1984, parodying popular superhero comics of the time. Published by their company, Mirage Studios, the comic was an unexpected hit. In 1987, they licensed the characters to Playmates Toys, leading to a highly successful line of action figures that generated about $1.1 billion in sales between 1988 and 1992. The action figures were promoted through an animated series that debuted in 1987 and ran for nearly a decade, followed by several other TV series, films—including a record-breaking 1990 release—and numerous video games, notably by Konami.
