Taking it back to 1983, when the 2 inch tall action figures “Battle Beasts” were released! Takara, the creators from Japan, initially intended these to be a spin off of Transformers (with the prior name being Beastformers) although when they tied in with Hasbro, this idea was not part of the story or marketing of the collection. ⁠
