Robotech is a Japanese science-fiction franchise that aired in the US in 1985. The 85-episode series was actually composed of three different mecha anime shows compiled together. The name “Robotech” was borrowed from popular model kit manufacturer Revell, which is fitting as the series was initially released as a commercial to sell these figure kits. You might recognize popular Transformer Jetfire from the Robotech series “Super Dimensional Fortress Macross”
