In 1987 we were introduced to the Predator. An alien who used advanced technology and enhanced tracking and spying abilities which made him great at hunting, specifically people.
In 1984 brothers Jim and John Thomas wrote ‘Hunter’ what would become a massive action movie classic and renamed to Predator. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger it was bound to be a hit. Production of the movie started in 1986 and has a budget of 15 million dollars. Released by 20th Century Fox June 12th 1987 the movie grossed 98.3 million dollars. While the movie wasn’t a flop it didn’t do as well as they thought it would. It released with mixed reviews. Nowadays it’s known as an action movie classic.
Even with the mediocre reviews and receival the movie spawned into a sizable franchise, even doing a crossover with the Alien series. The Alien vs Predator is still hugely popular among collectors and movie buffs alike.
