Did you know? Super Mario Brothers 2, a cult classic among Nintendo fans, was completely redesigned before hitting American shelves!
“Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic is a Japan-only game released for the Famicom Disk System that takes place in a book with an Arabian setting and is based on a family who plans to save two children. The game was later remade and brought to North America as Super Mario Bros. 2. The game is most notable for featuring multiple additions to the Nintendo universe; one being that it was the first game to feature Birdo and Shy Guy and secondly, it featured 4 characters, which was unusual for the time. The game was developed by Nintendo in cooperation with Fuji Television to promote its Yume Kōjō ’87 event.”
